Barn Owl Cabins - What to Expect

Sleep & Comfort

The cabins feature comfortable bunk beds dressed with deep feather duvets and plump pillows, creating a warm, restful space that encourages a good night’s sleep. Thick insulation and electric stove heating keep the cabin cosy, whatever the Scottish weather decides to do outside.

Practical Amenities for Walkers and Cyclists

After a day on the trail, practicality matters. Each cabin includes a modern, private bathroom, kept clean and fresh for every guest. There is a fold-down table and chairs for a quiet evening meal or planning the next day’s route, along with hanging space and a drying pulley for wet clothes.

Boot trays keep muddy footwear out of the way, while towels, crockery, cutlery, and the basics for tea, coffee, and hot chocolate are provided. It’s simple, comfortable and thoughtfully laid out.

Dog-Friendly by Design

We’re happy to welcome well-behaved dogs. Many walkers travel the West Highland Way with their canine companions, so each cabin includes a cosy “toastie bed” and easy access to woodland and forest paths for short walks. The owner has two dogs and a very large cat.

Atmosphere & Feel

The cabins have a charming, old-fashioned Scottish shepherds-hut feel — snug, warm and welcoming - while remaining bright, clean and modern. They work perfectly for a single night’s stop on the trail, or as a peaceful base if you’re staying a little longer before continuing north.
